This fragrance is inspired by a figure from Ancient Greece, known as boutypos or “ox-slayer”. During that period, these individuals were in charge of performing ritual sacrifices. Thereafter, the Greek term “boietai” became linked to the strips of cowhide used to make the whips and belts brandished during torture practices. In Roman times, the term initially referred to the collar used to immobilise prisoners, before expanding to mean the figure of the executioner himself. Eventually, it was used to refer to the boia or executioner at the Gradara court; directly appointed by the king, he was responsible for putting to death anyone who had committed a crime or injustice. Boia is a precious fragrance that captures the essence of power and determination. This creation evokes an aura of mystery, inspired by history and a dark and shady figure.
